Town Hall Meeting: Lonsdale & 13th Development
The City of North Vancouver has a vision for central Lonsdale, and it features the ‘town centre’ intersection on the corner of 13th and Lonsdale. The current development on the South-East corner, a partnership between the North Shore Credit Union and Wesgroup is well underway, but the North-East corner (Safeway site), still has a long way to go. Tuesday July 10 will be an opportunity to learn more about this development proposal, and to provide valuable feedback for the developers and the City to contemplate. Childcare will be provided onsite.The City of North Vancouver has received a revised Development Application to amend the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw for this property to permit two high rise residential towers on a two storey commercial podium and a mid rise commercial building, all with underground parking. The proposed overall heights of the residential towers are 24 storeys and 17 storeys, and the commercial building is 5 storeys. An OCP amendment is needed to permit one residential tower to exceed the permitted OCP height limit of 180 ft.A Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled where interested members of the public will have an opportunity to learn about and respond to the proposal. A facilitator will lead the discussion. This meeting enables early public input prior to bylaw preparation and a Public Hearing.
