“The Meeting” Comes to North Van!
Gotta love public art! As part of the Vancouver Biennale, a new public art piece has been installed in North Vancouver – Wang Shugang’s “The Meeting” has popped up in Rey Sargent Park on Lonsdale, in front of the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art.
Formerly located in Cardero Park in Coal Harbour, The Meeting features eight bronze statues. Walking along the Coal Harbour stretch of the sea-wall, reaching Cardero Park to view this striking piece of art used to be one of my great pleasures. I was immensely sad when it was taken away, so imagine my joy to discover that it has relocated to my own back-yard. Kudos, North Van! Check it out!
